Sometimes in order to truly understand the world, one has to look outside of the information that their country, in terms of both government and media, is projecting onto the world's situations, like to a screen. Reading the stories we don't want to publish is a good starting point, because it challenges the common world-view. Expanding to outside news sources (BBC, Al-Jazeera), if you are within the U.S., is a good place to go next.
Also, on a side note, I should have that Shearwater concert review from June done pretty soon, because I should finish it before I do it for when I see them again.
